2013 World Champion of Public Speaking
Now a resident of Chicago, Illinois - Presiyan Vasilev (Pres) came to America in 2002. For many years he struggled with English and often felt misunderstood.
In 2010, his desire for self improvement brought him to Toastmasters. He immediately recognized the value of the organization and joined 6 clubs!
He soon became addicted to speech contests. With every contest, his speaking skills improved, and on August 24th, 2013, he rose above 30,000 contestants from 122 countries to become the 2013 World Champion of Public Speaking.
Debra Custer, DTM, is a business analyst/project coordinator with Accenture. A charter member and officer of two Toastmasters clubs, Fireside and Accentuators. Debra has served as an area governor, division governor and district public relations officer
During her presentation, she'll share how creative visioning, focused attention and accurate thinking have served her throughout her life and how you can apply these principles to achieve your goals
In addition to Toastmasters, Debra enjoys Irish, Gaelic, Scottish and Bluegrass music, U2 as well as anything from the 60s and 70s. An avid reader, she especially enjoys business books, James Michener and philosphy.
A former geology major, Debra has hiked the Kaibab Trail of Grand Canyon, climbed Mexico's Pyramid of the Sun, and survived putting 4 sons through college. She is also a doting grandmother to 6 incredible grandchildren (who, of course, are more beautiful and smarter than any other grandchildren in the world) ranging in age from 1 to 8.
Shular Scudamore has five delightful grand-children ranging from age four to ten, and two wonderful daughters. He is an avid cyclist and has ridden coast to coast and from the Canadian border to the Mexican border along the Pacific coast.
Shular's past experience includes business management at Wayside Cross Ministries. After a failed attempt at entrepreneurship, Shular became an instructor of adult education in information technology. A Certified Technical Trainer, he teaches Fundamentals of Business Communications at ITT-Tech in Oakbrook.
Shular is a past member of Oswego Toastmasters Club and earned Distinguished Toastmaster in August 2009. He has participated in many speech contests and presentations at Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI's), and at a District 54 Conference.
Preparing for this presentation on Spiritual Principles has reenergized Shular's thinking on goals and personal development.
